Ange Postecoglou reckons Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis will only miss one match after being ruled out of today’s clash away to Hibernian.
Giakouamakis banged in a hat-trick against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership last weekend and many supporters were looking forward to seeing him in action today.
However, he was absent from the starting eleven and match squad, sparking fears he may have picked up an injury.

Thankfully, Postecoglou had a positive update on BBC Radio Scotland [11:54], telling the station pre-match: “It’s just an illness, mate. He should be back by Wednesday. Yeah [it’s a disappointment for him], but it’s only one game.”
Celtic host St Mirren on Wednesday night before travelling to play Livingston in West Lothian next weekend.
Having the physical presence of the Greek available for both games could be key, especially up against David Martindale’s outfit given our woes there in recent years.
Meanwhile, the manager said he was looking for ‘energy’ from his much-changed starting eleven this afternoon after returning seven players from the trip to Norway.
There’s been plenty of that from the Bhoys in the opening stages but there’s a distinct lack of control in the match, which may be frustrating for Postecoglou approaching the interval.
We’ve yet to really test goalkeeper Matt Macey and that needs to change in the second half if we want to open that six-point lead before Rangers play afternoon.
A big 45 minutes ahead!
