Wilfried Nancy must be privately surprised at the levels of critique he has had to endure in his short spell as the Celtic manager.
Nancy has been in the job for little over a week and the amount of vitriol the Celtic boss has had to put up with exceeds that of when Ange Postecoglou first arrived in Glasgow.
The Aussie manager’s Celtic appointment was ridiculed from all quarters of the media but with Nancy, this feels a little bit different.
Snooker legend John Higgins shares his thoughts on Celtic winning the league with Wilfried Nancy? What you think? Let us know in the comments.
The criticism of the Celtic manager has been personal as the likes of Ryan Stevenson continue to go after Nancy in the run up to the cup final against St Mirren.
And Gordon Dalziel has admitted that what is being said about the new Celtic manager has certainly left him stunned over the last ten days.

Gordon Dalziel is stunned at calls to sack Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy
With Celtic preparing to face St Mirren at Hampden, Dalziel admits that fans calling for Wilfried to be removed already has left him stunned.
Dalziel told Superscoreboard, “I think there’s been good moments from Celtic in both games. I think there’s been a lot of bad moments from Celtic.
“It was quite remarkable to listen to the phone in last night and hear people calling for him to go after two games.
“However, I don’t think he’s helped himself. I’m really surprised that he came in and completely ripped up Celtic’s approach and tried to implement a new system when he doesn’t have a full squad to choose from because of injuries.”
Dalziel says Celtic’s ‘failings’ are not the fault of Wilfried Nancy
Dalziel goes on to defend the Celtic boss as he tells the club and the fans that they have not been let down by Nancy, but by things that are outwith the Frenchman’s control.
Dalziel continued, “He has failings in the squad due to a bad transfer window.

“He’s got no coaching time and he’s got so many big games. I thought that Wilfried Nancy and even speaking to people who had worked with him in the past would just come in and almost just try and keep things ticking over and gradually make changes.
“Now, I know it’s not all down to the system, but I think Celtic have looked really uncomfortable at times in games.”
Calls for Nancy to be dismissed are nonsensical considering the defeats he experienced could, and probably would, have happened under Martin O’Neill.
Some people’s memories seem to forget that Celtic struggled during O’Neill’s temporary tenure against lesser opposition so patience is required.
A win today will alleviate the pressure from Nancy and Celtic fans will take any type of win to ensure the Premier Sports Cup returns to Paradise today.
