Wilfried Nancy would have been told about the pressure at Celtic.
The Frenchman would have understood that winning and winning only is accepted at Celtic, and how there is a lot of noise around the job.
But never would Nancy have thought that there would be this media hysteria around his use of a tactics board during Celtic’s defeat to Hearts on Sunday.
Yes, it’s not an ideal start by Celtic’s new coach, but thankfully, Gordon Strachan shut off the noise in his best possible way.
Have the Scottish media been fair with Wilfried Nancy in his first week?

Gordon Strachan on Wilfried Nancy’s tactics board
Celtic were losing at the time the Sky cameras panned towards the dugout where Nancy was using his tactics board, and discussing matters with his coaching staff.
Speaking on Open Goal, Strachan stated that if the Hoops were winning, then ‘nobody bothers you’, and how he would have been deemed a ‘genius.’
Strachan added how it’s the norm for managers or coaches to use these tactics boards, and how ‘we have all got these.’
“This morning, when I got up, I thought, ‘I better do some research before I get here,'” said Strachan.
“So, I looked at the BBC, and it’s a great picture of he (Nancy) has the tactic board out (talking to Tierney), and you can see Derek McInnes going, (he’s staring at it). He is going, ‘right, okay. I know what he has got to do, lads. I have just had a look at this wee board.’
“I have just said to you, if you are 2-0 up. Nobody bothers you. What happens at 2-0 up? ‘Oh, genius. He has got a board. Oh, look at him. Never seen a board before.’
“Really, never? We have all got these boards. We keep them somewhere tucked away.”

‘Everything is blown out of proportion’ amid Nancy noise
No club in Scotland is surrounded by more noise or pressure than Celtic, and it’s a job that comes with a lot of stress.
That was portrayed by Strachan, who stated that ‘everything is blown out of proportion in Glasgow’ following the reaction to Nancy’s start, and how your ‘life changes completely.’
“Everything is blown out of proportion in Glasgow,” added Strachan. “It doesn’t matter what you are doing.
“Was it a surprise that it came left-field? (Nancy’s appointment) No. I don’t think you put a plan on where it’s going (on whether Celtic should always go left-field from now on).
“I think you just need to have somebody who understands the club. When you come to Celtic, you think you know what’s coming. You don’t. You don’t have a club. Life changes completely. It’s manic. The stress.”
