The big build-up to the Celtic vs Rangers League Cup final continues as another former Ibrox player lines up to share his thoughts before the game.

It’s not been a good morning for Celtic’s rivals and the afternoon is not going any better as former Rangers defender, Graeme Roberts, piles into Ibrox boss, Philippe Clement.

Speaking about the upcoming final, Roberts spoke about Celtic’s financial muscle and said that the Parkhead club are ‘miles ahead’ of Rangers as he took a massive swipe at Clement.
Roberts told talkSPORT, “I am not. I think he has had to learn the hard way. The club have not given him much money to spend and he is up against it to be fair to him.
“I think Celtic made £60million profit last year and Rangers are getting nowhere near that. For the next five or six years, if they don’t win the league then they are going to be miles behind Celtic and that’s the problem he has got.
“They started off slow, but with the players he has got they have picked up in their last four or five games, scoring 14 goals and conceding one. He has got the nucleus right. But I’m just not sure he is the man for Rangers at the moment.”
Two teams Celtic could field that would still beat Rangers
Such is Celtic’s strength in depth, Brendan Rodgers could pick two teams from his matchday squad that would be capable of beating Rangers on Sunday.
The full-strength Celtic first XI is more than a match not just for the Ibrox club, but as has been proven on some occasions this season already, but also for the best teams in Europe.
If Celtic put their strongest eleven (and there is now an argument between Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo) they should be able to care of their Glasgow rivals.
However, looking at the Hoops’ second string, even allowing for match fitness, there is enough talent in capable of getting Celtic a positive result against Rangers as well.
As I’ve said on many occasions today, a result at Hampden will not be taken for granted but with the strength Celtic have in their ranks, that can only stand the club in good stead to pick the League Cup trophy up.
