Celtic fan groups have released a joint statement confirming the protest plan for Sunday’s game against Kilmarnock.
Hoops supporters have united as one against the club’s board consisting of CEO Michael Nicholson, chairman Peter Lawwell, and chief financial officer Chris McKay.
Fury stems from the disastrous summer transfer window, which many blame for Celtic failing to reach the Champions League.
Several votes of no confidence were lodged by Celtic fan groups and associations after the club’s tone-deaf statement on Saturday night was released.
And now, details of a consultation meeting – which 67 Hail Hail attended on Wednesday night – have been issued publicly.
Celtic fans confirm Kilmarnock protest as part of four-point plan
Celtic fan groups released a joint statement which confirmed a four-point plan of action to oust the current Celtic board.
And one of the points include a protest at Rugby Park on Sunday against Kilmarnock, which will see fans entering the ground after kick-off.
The statement reads as follows: “Fan consultation meeting, 10/09/2025.
“Yesterday evening, a consultation meeting was held with the signatories of the recent Open Letter to Celtic FC. The Open Letter has still to be addressed by Celtic FC despite it representing tens of thousands of Celtic fans.
“The consultation meeting reflected the second step of our acting as a collective fan movement for positive change at our club and was attended by 85 in the room and 175 online. Comprehensive minutes will soon be shared with all signatories.
“At the meeting, there was an overwhelming consensus on the following points which were compounded by a fan tally of 38,832 Celtic fans in advance of the meeting:
- to build on the recent ‘no confidence’ votes on the Celtic FC board, seeking the removal of Michael Nicholson, CEO; Chris McKay, CFO; Peter Lawwell, Chairman.
- to build a strategic, escalatory campaign against the Celtic board.
- to build a democratic and representative fan body
- to coordinate a ‘late entry’ protest at Kilmarnock v Celtic to further visualise and vocalise fan discontent.
“To help progress these points and the fan movement generally, a steering group of volunteers is being assembled. We would like to thank all who have participated in the meeting so far.
“It is natural that there will be a mix of feeling regarding some actions or inaction, however the most important consideration at this stage is maintaining, building and utilising broad fan support.”
Protest in Kilmarnock is only the start for Celtic fans
This movement against the Celtic board won’t just quieten down after a few good results and performances.
Regardless of what happens on the pitch, fans will remain eager to oust the current hierarchy at Parkhead.
The key word in the above statement found in point two is ‘escalatory’, meaning this movement is only going to grow stronger and become louder.
The Celtic board released their unacceptable statement on Saturday night thinking that will be the solution and things will calm down.
The complete opposite, however, is now occurring.
