Greg Taylor could be joined at PAOK by ex-Celtic teammate after Fabrizio Romano’s ‘talks’ update

Greg Taylor left Celtic for PAOK for free this summer after allowing his contract to run down.

The Scotland defender enjoyed a trophy-laden six-year spell at Celtic as Taylor picked up five league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups.

That trophy haul included three trebles as Taylor left Celtic with the blessings of the vast majority of the Parkhead support.

But it seems that the 27-year-old defender could be joined by a former Celtic teammate after the latest transfer update by Fabrizio Romano.

Former Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis holds ‘talks’ with PAOK

Giorgos Giakoumakis was a striker who split the opinion of many Celtic supporters.

The big Greek striker enjoyed a successful debut season at Parkhead as he won a league and cup double and ended it as Celtic’s top goal scorer ahead of Hoops icon Kyogo Furuhashi.

But now it appears Giakoumakis could be set to move to PAOK this summer.

Romano said on X, “Greek side PAOK sent an official bid to Cruz Azul for Giakoumakis, talks are underway.”

At 30, Giakoumakis still has plenty to offer but how has the former Greek international fared since leaving Celtic in 2023?

Giakoumakis has won five pieces of silverware over his whole career including two League Cups and a Scottish Premiership title at Celtic.

However, this is how he has fared since leaving Parkhead in March 2023:

Giakoumakis has also scored in a big 5-2 win over Inter Miami albeit Lionel Messi was missing from the matchday squad.

A link-up with Greg Taylor will interest Celtic fans and make them keep an eye on the Greek league next season.
