The Jakob Breum to Celtic summer transfer speculation has been going on for a number of weeks now.
Breum appears to be on the radar of Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers after reports suggest the Parkhead club offered £2.5m for the Go Ahead Eagles winger.
That was over a week ago now and, since then, there has been complete radio silence about the Celtic target.
With Go Ahead standing firm with Celtic over their valuation of Breum, it appears that any possible deal has hit a stalemate.
But after the Dutch club lost to PSV Eindhoven in the cup this week, what Breum said ‘with a smile’ when quizzed about a possible transfer may lend hope to Celtic fans that a deal may well be on the cards.

Celtic target Jakob Breum admits ‘time will tell’ over transfer move
Breum played the full 90 minutes of the cup defeat to PSV and post-match, gave a very interesting interview with ESPN, who were very forthright in asking about his future at the club.
ESPN reporter said to Breum, “What about you? Altman is gone. When we look at you and the scouts look at you, they saw every now and then you’re a touch of class. Are you staying?”
Breum: “Yeah, time will tell. You never know. It’s the same for all the other guys. There’s one month left and we’ll see. As long as I’m here, I’m 100% here and I will do my best.
“A bit of a boring answer, but that’s how it is. It’s a professional sport. As long as I’m here, I give 100% for
this team every time.
“And I think now, I have a really important role now. Two key players left and then the other players will need to step up.
ESPN: “No serious interest at the moment? No serious interest from other clubs at the moment?”
Breum: “Not at the moment, I think.”
ESPN: “Is he saying with a smile? Stay. Stay!”
What Dutch pundits have told Celtic fans about Jakob Breum
It appears that Breum could very well be on the move and whether that’s to Celtic or not, fans are bound to find out sooner rather than later.
However, Celtic fans have been warned about Breum and how suitable he is for the Parkhead after Dutch pundits Kees Kwakman and Kenneth Perez got honest about the 21-year-old winger.
Kwakman said that Breum will ‘never be a physically strong player’ which, as Celtic fans know, is important in Scottish football.
And Perez says that Breum is ‘so small’ and that his height, whilst perfect for the Dutch league, may hinder his ability to make a step up, which Celtic obviously are for the young Dutchman.
With just under a month of the transfer window to go, it seems that this will not be the last Celtic fans hear of Breum.
