With the Celtic supporters looking to Brendan Rodgers to bring in fresh new faces this summer, it’s easy to forget that there are current players at the club who also need to be looked after.
The Celtic boss did a great job last summer in tying down the likes of Matt O’Riley, Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate to new deals.
Liam Scales also saw his contract extended later on into the season and this summer the club have been active in making sure some of the best youngsters at Lennoxtown are committed to Celtic long-term.
However, the Celtic manager still has a decision to make on Greg Taylor as the Hoops fullback’s contract continues into its final year.
Taylor unconcerned at lack of Celtic contract talks
The Scotland fullback was speaking whilst on the US Tour about his own contract situation and admits that he’s not overly concerned that a new deal has yet to be signed.
Taylor said [Daily Record], “No, nothing. We’ll see what happens. I honestly don’t know, I think I’ve got 10 months left.
“It’s football, it’s business. You understand that’s part of it. So I’m sure these things eventually work their selves out.
“Is it on my mind? Not at the forefront, I wouldn’t say so. But of course, you’ve got 10 months left in your contract, you know the situation you’re in.
“So we’ll just see what happens.”
Taylor has been at Celtic since 2019 and has picked up four league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups which includes two treble-winning seasons.

Bought as a replacement for Kieran Tierney, the Celtic fullback really came into his own during the Ange Postecoglou era.
Now under Rodgers, Taylor has remained the first-choice left-back after Alexandro Bernabei failed to cut the mustard at Celtic.
No doubt Brendan Rodgers will address the Celtic fullback’s contract situation soon as Taylor has been a good servant to the club and could still play a role in future successes.
