Greg Taylor has been one of the Celtic players who have improved immensely under Ange Postecoglou. Having joined the club in 2019, it was only until Ange Postecoglou took over two seasons ago that Taylor made that left-back position his own.

The Scotland international has been in great form for Celtic this season. And after the 5-0 win over Aberdeen yesterday, the full-back revealed he wants to make more of a goal-scoring contribution to the team.

Taylor has scored three goals for Celtic this season with his most memorable being the 88th-minute winner against Hearts at Tynecastle in the 4-3 win back in October last year.

The Celtic star was asked post-match about his goal contribution when he revealed that he did have a number of goals in mind that he wanted to reach this season.

Taylor said, “I actually wanted five. So I’m a wee bit gutted. Unless I can get two in the cup final next week that would be a really nice ending.

“So I’m two short at the moment, but no, I want to try to add goals to my game definitely and if it can help the team then I am eager to do that.”

It would be great if Taylor could pop up with two goals next weekend to seal a Scottish Cup victory. But regardless of that, the 24-year-old can be proud of what he has achieved at Celtic.

Taking over the full-back role from Kieran Tierney would have been a challenge for any player. But Taylor has taken that on and acquitted himself well in the position.

Taylor has enjoyed a rich vein of form this season. He was being spoken about at one point as a contender for the Player of the Season.

With three league titles, a Scottish Cup and two league cups, the Celtic star will be desperate to add another Scottish Cup to his name to complete his first-ever career treble.
