Hibernian have sent out a strong warning to supporters ahead of tonight’s Premiership clash against Celtic.

It’s the Easter Road side’s final home game of the season, and the champions are in town for what is usually a tasty fixture.

Celtic will be backed by just shy of 3,500 supporters for the game. (Celtic Tickets)

However, it is the behaviour of home fans which seems to be causing the most worry for the Edinburgh club.

On the morning of the game, Hibernian released a statement on their website with a few interesting details.

They started by apologising for some access issues prior to their Sunday defeat to Rangers, before going on the offensive.

They say a “further arrest” was made for the use of pyrotechnics during the weekend clash and that searches will be in place this evening.

They also say that anyone caught “throwing objects, causing damage, entering the trackside or field of play, bringing of bottles/cans into the stadium can expect action to be taken.”

Hibs finished the section by saying: “We ask you to think about your actions, before, during and after the match and please don’t be that person!”

It’s pretty hard to imagine Celtic having to put out a similar statement, even before a derby.

The Easter Road side do seem to have a bit of an issue with trouble at home matches.

Tonight doesn’t have a great deal riding on it for us. However, Hibernian are still playing for Europe so we can expect a noisy one in Edinburgh.

We can only hope that there are no regrettable incidents.
