Celtic are well on course to win the ninth domestic Treble in their history.
This record-breaking feat will be unmatched by any other club in Scotland, the world even, and apart from the Celtic support, there is probably no other fan in the country who wants it to happen.
Or is there? The way the Scottish Premiership table is situated now is that Celtic and Rangers will both grab the available Champions League spots.
That leaves the Europa League and Conference League spots up for grabs, which means that whoever wins the Scottish Cup will nab the lucrative Europa League play-off place.
So then, why does pundit Tam McManus want Celtic to win the Scottish Cup to then complete the treble? Because that would benefit Hibs.

Tam McManus says ‘nobody’ will stop Celtic winning the treble
McManus told the Daily Record, “Landing away ties to Celtic in both was like a punishment that could only be carved up by a Jambo.
“But there is a positive. Being pumped out of the Scottish Cup might just clear the way for Hibs to go grab the lucrative Euro spot that currently goes to the team who lifts the trophy at Hampden in May.
“Why? Well, nobody left is going to stop Celtic going on to win it and securing the Treble. I’m certain about that.
“That means the Europa League playoff spot – and safety net of entering the league phase in the Conference League – will fall back to the team finishing third in the Premiership.
“Hibs have got themselves into pole position, and I don’t think they will be caught on the home straight.”
Every treble-winning Celtic season
Celtic have eight domestic trebles to their name so far but, incredibly, since Jock Stein won the club’s first in with the Lisbon Lions and then again two seasons later, it wasn’t until the next century that the Bhoys made the achievement again.
So, taking a look at Celtic’s trophy history, here is every season the club won the domestic treble:
- Jock Stein: 1966/67. Celtic won every competition they entered that season including the European Cup.
- Jock Stein: 1968/69
- Martin O’Neill: 2000/01
- Brendan Rodgers: 2016/17
- Brendan Rodgers: 2017/18
- Brendan Rodgers/Neil Lennon: 2018/19
- Neil Lennon: 2019/20. Lennon became the first ever person to win a treble as player and manager of Celtic.
- Ange Postecoglou: 2022/23
