Celtic hero Scott Brown has played with many talented players during his time at Parkhead.

From Neil Lennon, to Shunsuke Nakamura, Brown was a teammate to some of the best players in the world, not just Celtic.

During his time at the club, the former Celtic captain won 10 Scottish Premiership titles, six Scottish Cups and seven League Cups.

Brown also enjoyed some memorable European nights and wins against Rangers at Celtic Park but it was one memory in particular that the Celtic legend recalls that made his mind up about who was the best goalkeeper he ever played with at Parkhead.

Scott Brown says Fraser Forster is better than Celtic icon Artur Boruc

Brown has played with some tremendous goalkeepers over his illustrious Celtic career but he reckons Fraser Forster was the ‘best’ ever.

Speaking about Celtic’s famous win over Lazio in Rome in the Europa League, Brown explains why Forster was better than Boruc.

Brown told The Scottish Football Podcast, “Very early. I think that was within the first 10 minutes of the game.

“And you’re going away to these big arenas, loads of fans and it’s hard to deal with the quality they had at the best of times without us going 1-0 down early doors.

“And then turn side, we’ve managed to somehow get up the park and, to be fair before that, Fraser made three or four good saves and he’s kept us in the game.

“And Jamesy goes up, gets a touch out wide and it’s a great finish in the far away corner. And if I’m honest, we’ve defended for our lives and Fraser’s by far probably the best goalie I’ve played with in terms of like stature.

“And I played with Artur [Boruc]. Artur wasn’t there for as long as what Fraser was with me and we had Craigie [Gordon] as well.

“Craigie was a good goalie, but Fraser had the all round package. His arms were humongous and see when he made a save, it bounced 20 yards away. And that’s the difference of him being that quality.”

What the Barcelona dressing room said about Celtic hero Fraser Forster in 2012

When Celtic beat Barcelona in 2012, it created worldwide news and sent shockwaves across football.

At the time, the Catalans were blown away by Forster and Lionel Messi led the tributes to his Parkhead heroics.

Messi said, “There was one game in Scotland where he was not human, it is the best goalkeeping performance I have seen.”

I think many Celtic fans will totally agree with this.
