Hollywood star Jon Hamm was one of the fans in attendance at Celtic Park tonight, watching Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys run out 2-0 winners against Hibernian.
Hamm is reportedly in Scotland filming the Amazon Prime show Good Omens at the moment and has been spotted in both Glasgow and Edinburgh recently. [Glasgow Live]
Tonight the Mad Men icon chose to take in the surroundings of Paradise and was hopefully impressed with what he witnessed. Photo agency SNS posted a picture on their social media channels earlier this evening.
Hamm is a big sports fan across the Atlantic and is known for following NHL team St Louis Blues and MLB outfit St Louis Cardinals. He also narrates the NFL documentary series ‘All Or Nothing’.
As well as Mad Men, the 50-year-old is known for star turns in films such as The Town, Bridesmaids and Baby Driver.
Celtic were in sparkling form against Hibs, worthy of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, especially in the first half. New signing Daizen Maeda scored on his debut while compatriot Reo Hatate produced a stunning display to bag the sponsors’ man of the match award.
I doubt the upcoming match away to Alloa in the Scottish Cup will be as glamourous as tonight’s occasion, but it’s just as important to the Bhoys.
As we found out from the Scottish League Cup, Celtic are trophy contenders this season but we can’t slip up against lower league opposition, who will undoubtedly sit in and defend this weekend.
While Hamm might not be there, the rest of us will be enthralled no doubt!
