Luis Palma and Honduras have a fight on their hands to secure World Cup qualification.
Honduras are managed by Reinaldo Rueda and his team, with loaned-out Celtic star Palma trying to fire them to glory, are second in their group, level on points with leaders Haiti, as they meet in a crucial qualifier on Tuesday morning (UK time).
Palma made the right move to leave the champions of Scotland in the summer because he needed the minutes, and he simply wasn’t good enough for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
And given the 25-year-old’s start on loan at Lech Poznan, his national coach is hoping for a lot more.

Honduras coach Reinaldo Rueda wants Luis Palma to make Lech Poznan transfer
Celtic paid Aris Thessaloniki £3.5 million for Palma’s talents in 2023, and Poznan would need to pay that fee if they want to sign him for good.
It would be a record transfer for a Polish move if such a deal goes through, so a lot needs to happen from now until the end of the season for that to become a reality.
But one man who is eager for Palma to leave Celtic and join Poznan permanently is his national team coach, as he told Once Noticias.
“If Luis signs with Lech, it will be a win-win situation: for him, for the club, and for the Honduran national team,” said Rueda.
Palma isn’t cut out for Celtic
It’s all good seeing Palma perform in Poland, but the fact of the matter is, he didn’t show an ounce of it in the colours of the champions.
Not only was he one-dimensional, in terms of always cutting onto his right foot, but he hardly ever produced anything of note when doing that.
That’s why it was the right call for Palma to be loaned out, and in the near future, get sold for good because he was also part of that infamous 2023 summer transfer window when Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic.
