The international break is here and that means Celtic’s stars get a break from the action.

10 Celtic players are on international duty for the October break as places at the 2026 World Cup are on the line.

It comes at a time where the Hoops have struggled of late, but Brendan Rodgers’ side were still able to beat Motherwell 3-2 in the final game before the break.

Celtic are two points behind league leaders Hearts and will need an impressive run of form post-break to reclaim top spot.

This block of fixtures has been patchy to say the least, but how does it compare to last season’s?

The win against Motherwell was a timely one for the Bhoys, especially after a difficult run of games.

Both seasons saw the Bhoys play six games during the period, each with different outcomes.

Rodgers’ side had a better run going into the October break last season, losing one and winning five of the six games.

A thrashing away against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League was the only mark against the run of results that saw the Hoops score 21 goals across those games.

This season has been more difficult to navigate and the Bhoys have scored 11 goals in the six matches that have taken place.

Additionally, they only won three of the six games over this period, and failed to score in two of them, whereas they scored in all six previously.

How can we expect Celtic to perform in November?

November is going to be just as busy for the Bhoys, and includes the small matter of a Premier Sports Cup semi-final meeting against Rangers.

League fixtures against Dundee, Falkirk and Kilmarnock present favourable opportunities to take maximum points in the Scottish Premiership while the trip to Hearts on 26 October could be huge in the title race.

Away from domestic football are two Europa League games against Sturm Graz at Celtic Park and FC Midtjylland away from home, where the first wins of the competition should take place.
