Former Celtic star Shaun Maloney has made his feelings clear on being linked with the Dundee job.
Dundee sacked Tony Docherty after the Dens Park boss guided them to Scottish Premiership safety in the final game of the season.
Avoiding the play-offs, the Taysiders clearly want to take the club in a new direction and it appears ex-Celtic striker Shaun Maloney is the man they have identified to do just that.
Maloney’s last stint in Scotland was at Easter Road where he spent just five months before being let go and returning to Wigan nine months later.
Now looking for a new club after Wigan sacked Maloney in March, it appears that the former Celtic man has made his feelings clear on what he thinks about the Dundee links.

Shaun Maloney ‘frontrunner’ for Dundee job as ex-Celtic man shows interest
Maloney appears to be Dundee’s top choice for the vacant managerial role as the former Parkhead hero looks to get back into football.
The Herald reports that Maloney is ‘interested’ in the job and that he would ‘welcome the opportunity’ to speak to the Dens Park club.
The report also says that Dundee’s ‘hierarchy are keen to land Maloney’ as the Tayside club make plans for next season.
Shaun Maloney’s coaching career including time at Celtic
Maloney has been involved in a coaching capacity since retiring from football in 2017. Hired by Celtic as part of the U20 development squad, the former winger also landed a coaching post with the Belgium national squad in 2018.
Maloney left Celtic the same year and stayed with the Belgians for three years before taking up the managerial role at Hibs in December 2021.
Sacked in April 2022 after just 19 games in charge at Hibs, Maloney returned to Wigan as the gaffer after spending four years at The Latics as a player between 2011 and 2015.
After 115 games, Maloney was let go by the League One club. Now it looks like the former Celtic favourite could be set for a return to management in Scotland.
