Greg Taylor is yet to sign a new deal at Celtic ahead of Kieran Tierney’s return to the club.
The left-back’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and despite Celtic talking to Taylor about a new deal, nothing has been signed by the 27-year-old just yet.
With news that Kieran Tierney is set to return to Celtic in the summer in a Bosman deal, Alistair Johnston has shared how Taylor really feels about the club despite knowing a potential replacement for him has already been arranged.

Johnston told the Daily Record, “It’s always tough when a player is running out of contract. You know how much Greg loves the club and how much he’d love to be here. I won’t speak for him but it must be difficult knowing KT’s coming in the summer.
“Greg’s someone who often gets overlooked but who helps us do so much with his ability to come inside and impact the play. If this is his last year he’ll be seriously missed on and off the pitch.
“But you can understand that he wants to play every week and with Kieran coming back that’s maybe not going to happen. Whatever happens, though, he’ll always give his best for the club and we should back him for that.”

Taylor has spoken publicly twice about his Hoops future. Whilst on the US Tour with Celtic last summer, the Scotland fullback said his contract situation wasn’t ‘at the forefront’ of his mind and said that he was sure it would work itself out.
In April of last year, Taylor confirmed there were ‘no talks’ with Celtic but since then Brendan Rodgers has told the Hoops defender that he ‘wants him to stay’ at the club.
Whether or not that will happen is anyone’s guess but at least Celtic have a plan in place should Talyor decide his future lies elsewhere at the end of his current contract.
