Michel-Ange Balikwisha was nowhere to be seen in Celtic’s squad on Wednesday night.
The winger returned to Glasgow after DR Congo were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations, but hasn’t been included since.
Celtic’s win against Falkirk on Wednesday night was gritty, but Balikwisha wasn’t even named among the substitutes.
It is a perfect image of how his time has gone in Glasgow so far, and it appears that he hasn’t taken it well.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha deletes all traces of Celtic from social media
Social media is a powerful tool and can often provide an insight into how someone is feeling.
Looking at Balikwisha’s latest activity, it would suggest that all is not well as on his Instagram account, all traces of Celtic have been deleted, aside from the collaboration post he did with the club to confirm his signing.
Days before that, the 24-year-old changed his profile picture, cryptically claiming that 2026 would be his year after a difficult few months of adapting to life in Scotland.
Why leaving Celtic isn’t the easy option for Michel-Ange Balikwisha
Players who are lacking in gametime may think of trying to find a new team to go and get valuable minutes, either on loan or permanently.
Balikwisha’s circumstances are slightly different though.
Name three players you would sell in the current Celtic side
FIFA rules only allow players to represent two sides in one season. Having played for both Royal Antwerp and Celtic already, he would not be eligible to represent them.
That leaves his only options as either returning to Antwerp or staying and getting his head down and proving to the Hoops that he was worth the £5m they paid for him.
