Scott Allan hits the nail on the head with what Celtic fans are expecting from the transfer window

Scott Allan has read the mind of Celtic fans by perfectly summing up what they want from the transfer window.

Only one signing has walked through the door so far, Julian Araujo, who joined on loan from Bournemouth.

He was the only signing made by Wilfried Nancy before he was sacked and since then, nobody else has joined.

Martin O’Neill’s worrying comments about vetoing some transfers proposed to him only justified supporters’ fears even more and Allan is shocked that the club haven’t been more proactive.

Scott Allan baffled why Celtic haven’t improved first team

To everyone outside of the club, it is so obvious which areas of the pitch need improving.

The striker position is the most notable but aside from a few links here and there, it is all quiet on that front.

While appearing on the BBC Sportsound’s Scottish Football Podcast, Allan was just as baffled as the fanbase as to why there is no urgency from Celtic in the market.

“We’re two weeks into January and no players come in to bolster the squad,” said the former Hoops midfielder.

The first thing I would do if I was on the Celtic board is – – – –

“But it’s not all about bolstering the squad, it’s also about players coming into the starting XI and making the starting XI better. I think that’s what all the fans are expecting.

“You would expect Celtic in the next week or two to have some players in. But at the same time, it’s really surprising that they haven’t at least got a striker in.”
