How much Celtic will get for Luis Palma as details of ‘agreement’ with club emerges

Luis Palma has been struggling at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers.

The Honduran has made just seven appearances for Celtic this season compared to 36 in his first year at the club.

Palma is clearly not fancied by the Celtic manager and it seems like his time at the club could well be over as Rodgers continues to prefer James Forrest, Nicolas Kuhn, James Forrest and even Hyunjun Yang in the wide areas.

Palma was reportedly close to agreeing to a Celtic exit last week with Rayo Vallecano said to be leading the race for his signature.

But according to reports over the weekend, that deal has now been agreed with Celtic set to receive a decent fee for the 24-year-old winger.

Luis Palma has already agreed to leave Celtic for La Liga

Estadio Deportivo reports that Palma has ‘already the agreement’ for a loan move to Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.

The La Liga club narrowly escaped relegation last season and now, Los Franjirrojo, are sitting nicely in 9th position in La Liga with just six defeats out of their first 19 fixtures.

Vallecano have an option to buy Palma at the end of the season and if they do, Celtic could earn £2.1m if the Honduran makes his permanent exit in the summer.

Palma is expected to travel to Madrid next week to sign the deal and become Celtic’s second January exit after Stephen Welsh left the Bhoys to KV Mechelen on loan last week.

Luis Palma’s most important Celtic goals

Palma had a storming start to his Celtic career after joining from Aris in the summer of 2023 in a £3.5m move.

From August to December, Palma scored 10 goals and created 10 as he made a positive impact on Celtic’s defence of the Scottish Premiership and impact on the Champions League.

With that in mind, 67 Hail Hail takes a look at Palma’s most important strikes of his Celtic career:
