Former Celtic youngster Jeremie Frimpong is on the brink of a big move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool this summer.
The Dutch international defender has been subjected to numerous transfer rumours after Frimpong’s Celtic exit, as his move to Leverkusen has been a roaring success.
Since moving to the Bundesliga, Frimpong has won a league title, the German Cup and the German Supercup as the ex-Celtic fullback became one of the hottest properties in Europe.
And now, days after Fabrizio Romano’s update on Frimpong moving to Liverpool, Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenburg has delivered an update that will bring Celtic to the brink of banking millions of pounds this summer.

Celtic hero Jeremie Frimpong in ‘advanced talks’ with Liverpool
It seems that things are moving swiftly for Frimpong as a return to England now looks inevitable.
Plettenberg took to social media to post this update on the former Celtic man, “Understand Liverpool are seriously pursuing Jeremie Frimpong. Advanced talks have already taken place.
“Following detailed analysis and due to his availability, he is currently one of the top options for Liverpool to potentially replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“Frimpong is planning to move this summer. The 24-year-old right wing-back can leave Leverkusen in the summer thanks to a release clause set at around €35–40m.”
A move to the English Premier League champions would be a stunning move for Frimpong, whose career had stalled at Man City before Celtic bought him back in 2019.
How much Celtic are set to bank if Frimpong makes Liverpool move
Celtic’s sell-on clause for Frimpong is reportedly to be around the 30% mark. The club has played an absolute blinder here.
According to the Daily Record, the exact fee Liverpool are set to pay is £36m for the former Bundesliga winner.
The report states that with a 30% clause, the Hoops are set to bank a whopping £6.7m should Frimpong make the switch to Anfield over the coming weeks.
