How much money it would take for Brondby to say ‘yes’ to Celtic for Mathias Kvistgaarden

Celtic’s apparent pursuit for Mathias Kvistgaarden has been going on ever since Brendan Rodgers returned to the club back in 2023.

Kvistgaarden came close to joining Celtic in January after reports suggested Brendan Rodgers had a bid rejected rejected as it never met Brondby’s valuation of the player.

Since then, all talk of Kvistgaarden and Celtic has gone quiet despite the winger’s impressive season at the club.

Brondby are currently sitting third in the Danish Superliga just six points off top spot but it seems that despite their lofty position, there is a price the Danes are willing to go to to allow Kvistgaarden to leave the club this summer.

Celtic told £11.3m will make Brondby say ‘yes’ to transfer

Danish pundit and former Hibs player Francis Dickoh has explained just how much it will take to prise Kvistgaarden away from Brondby.

A former Danish Superliga winner, Dickoh explains how Brondby manager Benjamin Schmedes has been charged with raising funds when the £11.3m price tag was floated.

Dickoh told Viaplay, “It will be Benjamin Schmedes’ job to come up with around 100 million kroner [£11.3mllion].

“I’m not sure that exactly 100 million kroner needs to be on the table before they say yes to it, but if you get there I think they will also say yes.”

Mathias Kvistgaarden’s Brondby season vs Celtic hero Daizen Maeda

Kvistgaarden, like Daizen Maeda, has been deployed as a left-winger at Brondby but as like Celtic have done with their Japanese star, the Danes have pushed the 22-year-old into the striker role this season.

And it appears to paying dividends. So here we take a look at Kvistgaarden’s goals and assists record compared to Celtic’s Daizen Maeda.
