The signing of Hyun-jun Yang now looks imminent for Celtic after the player flew in to the UK.
The Gangwon winger has been widely known to be moving to Glasgow for several days. The K League 1 club even confirmed that he had departed for Celtic four days ago.
But to date there has been no announcement from Celtic making the deal official, and it’s the same with his compatriot Kwon Hyeok-kyu.
That may be about to change very soon though with the news that Yang is now in the country. The Scottish Sun report that the attacker flew in on Wednesday.
It’s not totally clear whether that was in to a Scottish airport or London where Celtic have been known to conduct medicals in the past.
What seems pretty clear is that the South Korean won’t be joining up with his soon-to-be team-mates on their tour of Japan.

Given that the countries are pretty close to each other it may have made sense for him to get involved as soon as possible. But, for whatever reason, the club have decided against that option.
Perhaps it’s a medical or some other obligation that requires him to be in the UK. Without ever having been privy to what goes on in the final stages of a transfer, I’ll admit to being a little out of my depth here.

With Yang’s old club waving him goodbye and the winger now in the country, an announcement does look imminent.
If he’s unveiled as a Celtic player over the next 48 hours he won’t have long to wait before joining in training.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will be back in Scotland early next week before preparing for a game against Wolves in Dublin.
Yang is likely to be a part of all of that.
