Reo Hatate has given an exclusive interview to Sky Sports this weekend after his stunning performance for Celtic vs Rangers.
Hatate scored a double from outside of the box and also assisted a Liel Abada goal in a 3-0 rout of our arch-rivals, announcing himself as one of the best players in the country.
It’s quite the impact considering he only arrived in Scotland last month. With a stunning goal against Hearts to his name too, he has wasted no time in making himself a Celtic hero.

Asked about his impact, he told Sky Sports: “Of course, I am very happy with those statistics. But I am more pleased I managed to live up to the expectations of both the manager and the team. It made me feel that I was already part of the team.
“I’m happy that I scored the goals in the first place, but I particularly like the second goal. I like how I found the open space and ran towards it. As always I want to be in a place where I can pass, dribble or shoot. With the shot itself, I was able to keep my composure as well. That’s why I like my second goal the most.”
Hatate was then asked about his start at Celtic overall, to which he said: “Yes, no doubt it has been a better start than I expected. However, none of this would have been possible without the support from the manager, staff and teammates. So I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved with this football club.
“The fact I can play in such a wonderful stadium and atmosphere is all thanks to the fans. So I would like to do my best to give back to the fans who give their all to support us.”
Hatate should get the opportunity to further impress later today when Celtic face Motherwell. He has the midfield wizardry and attacking output to cause the Steelmen all sorts of problems.
Given Ange Postecoglou thinks there’s more to come from his new signing, as we discussed earlier this week, we could just be scratching the surface on his impact at the Bhoys.
