Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou was on top form during his interview with popular interview channel Open Goal this afternoon, speaking to former Hoops youth players Simon Ferry and Paul Slane.
Giving it an “I’m loving it” verdict on how happy he is in Glasgow seconds into the interview, he was full of laughter and smiles as he discussed winning manager of the month, as well as overcoming a difficult start as Celtic boss.
The manager goes on to discuss his philosophy for playing and how most players actually want to play the kind of attacking, successful football he is instituting at Celtic.
Postecoglou, like in every interview, stresses that Celtic are far from the finished product and still have improving to do in the short and long-term, but his enthusiasm for his job in Glasgow shines through.
In fact, he could barely keep the smile off of his face throughout the interview. He’s perfectly at home in this environment talking football to two people who have had an experience of Celtic themselves.
Postecoglou also explains the origin story of his inverted full-back system, the roots of which go all the way back to his playing day when he didn’t enjoy playing as a full-back himself.
As well as that, he goes into the nature of his relationship with his father and growing up loving the game itself, despite 2 am wake up calls.
It’s interesting stuff and certainly worth some of your time this evening as we savour the aftermath of a big weekend for Celts everywhere.
