Celtic continue to delight and surprise us with their video content from pre-season.
The Celtic TV team get their fair share of criticism and sometimes it’s justified but, for me, this summer they are knocking it out of the park.
We’ve had class sneak peeks at Ange Postecoglou training at Lennoxtown. We’ve had great interviews on the club YouTube channel. Nice Q+A sessions on the Instagram account. Matches on the Pass to Paradise service. And of course, just regular daily updates from the camp in Wales.
Paul Cuddihy has been on hand to talk us through the training videos at Dragon Park this week.
The latest footage is well worth a wee watch.
Tonight Cuddihy went into a bit more detail on the kind of training work that is taking place under the new manager.
The Celtic View man explained: “You can see them working on an exercise – Rondos. It’s six vs three in very confined spaces. They’re working on the movement, the press, the speed of the ball and the counter-press.
“Once they’re finished that they’ll move to the other side of the park where they’ll work on their attacking combination play.
“The training session will finish with a game. The outfield players will play between the two 18-yard boxes. Only the attackers are allowed inside the 18-yard line and they have to finish with two touches.”
Postecoglou can also be seen barking orders at his players, deeply involved in the middle of the session.

Footage of Postecoglou Celtic training is great for supporters
Listen, I’m not naive. I get a lot of this information and footage won’t be groundbreaking for anyone with knowledge of how structured training sessions in football work.
However, it’s also great to see this kind of access and insight shared with the wider support. It all enhances knowledge of Celtic, the new methods under Postecoglou and how the players are being prepared.
Some quarters have criticised the excitement over training videos. But I’m all for them. The more information I can get about Celtic, the better.
As long as you recognise it means little outside the context of matches and meaningful results, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of optimism after a peek behind the curtain.
