Celtic have sent out an e-mail from Ange Postecoglou to season ticket holders tonight containing a defiant message that the trophy push doesn’t end here.
The manager has also paid tribute to supporters for backing the team week-in, week-out, in similar comments to the ones he gave live on Premier Sports after the match.
Celtic seem eager to immediately engage with fans and get them on board for the next phase of Postecoglou’s rebuild.

The manager states in the e-mail: “Winning trophies has always been part of this club’s identity, and so we’re all delighted to have done that today by lifting the League Cup with the victory over Hibernian at Hampden.
“It’s a great achievement by the players and one that they should rightly be very proud of. And whether it’s the first winner’s medal as a Celtic player or, in the case of players like Callum, another one to add to an already impressive collection, I know that the whole squad will savour this achievement.
“To win the League Cup in front of so many of our own supporters at Hampden, and knowing that so many more throughout the world were cheering us on, makes this success even more special. What we are trying to do here, in terms of the football we want to play and what we want to achieve on the field, is to have a team that is exciting to watch and that our supporters are proud of.
“The backing that we get, week in, week out, both home and away is incredible, and on behalf of everyone at the club I want to thank all of you for your support. It is a real strength of this football club, and something that people around the world are well aware of, so to be part of that, to get that support and, in turn, to deliver success in terms of silverware, is something we’re all very proud of.
“It doesn’t just stop here, of course, and we have a lot of football still to be played for this season. For us, as a team, that means very quickly turning our attention to our game at St Mirren on Wednesday night, but in the wider context of the campaign, it means competing for more trophies both domestically and in Europe. For tonight, though, it is about celebrating our League Cup success and enjoying it together as a club – as players, management and as supporters.”
Postecoglou is eager to stress that while this success feels massive tonight, it could end up just being a small part of a much bigger, more exciting season.

It’s about using this trophy lift as a catalyst and a legacy to build upon. Postecoglou is constantly stressing stage-by-stage improvement. If this feels like a high tonight, it shouldn’t in May.
That’s the reality of the manager’s process and what the players have to aspire to. They’ll get the chance to enjoy tonight, then it’s back to work this week to prepare for four massive league matches before the January break.
In other news, The disrespectful Celtic clip from McCoist and Brazil in June that looks ridiculous tonight.
