Radio presenter, Alan Brazil, has shared what he’s heard about alleged problems at Celtic involving Brendan Rodgers and transfers.

Criticism has been mounting on the club since they lost the top spot to Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership and Brazil reckons that looking at Celtic, there are serious problems that need to be addressed.

Brazil said [talkSPORT], “Look, I don’t know what’s happened at Celtic at the moment. It’s clear there’s a problem.

“I might be wrong, but I heard the pitch needed money spent on it, he [Brendan Rodgers] wanted money for players and didn’t get it.

“But these are things I’ve been told, but it might not be 100% true. But what I do know is, I look at the results and there’s something not right.”

Three things that are not quite right at Celtic

There are various issues that are not quite right at the club and here are three that I think are causing the most issues.

The transfer policy at Celtic has been long been derided this season. Far too many players have been bought for far too much money who are clearly not good enough to play for the club.

Celtic are suffering from that after key players like Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate got injured and Rodgers struggled to identify backup players who were good enough to step in.

The style of play is another thing that needs to be addressed. Rodgers is trying to adopt a slow and patient buildup style of play with a team that was built for fast, free-flowing football.

It’s obvious it’s not working as this approach is negating the strengths of explosive players like Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda.

Last but not least, Rodgers must find a way to get the Japanese striker and Matt O’Riley to perform to their capabilities.

Kyogo is nowhere near the goalscoring form that we have seen over the past two seasons and O’Riley’s form over the last five or six games has fallen off a cliff.

If we are to win the league title, these two players will be key to that and Rodgers must look to improving their performances.

Brazil was right, there are problems at Celtic and they are worrying.
