The conversation around the gap between Celtic and Rangers only took one Scottish Premiership result to start that talk up again.
Rangers’ draw with Motherwell has sparked the new Scottish Premiership season into life and Celtic haven’t even kicked a ball yet.
Brendan Rodgers’ side start the new campaign at Celtic Park as the Bhoys celebrate Flag Day against St Mirren inside a packed Parkhead.
And with 37 games still to go in the new season, a BBC 606 pundit has gone in early with his verdict on the gap between Celtic and Rangers already.

BBC’s Gavin Wallace says Celtic and Rangers are ‘so far apart right now, it’s unreal’
Gavin Wallace was asked by former Hull City manager Phil Brown to get ‘serious’ about the gap between Celtic and Rangers as the BBC pundit joked about the distance between the two stadiums.
But when Wallace did deliver his verdict, it was based mainly on what former Rangers coach Billy Dodds said about his old club winning the title from Celtic.
Wallace told BBC 606 [1h 12m 3s], “They’re so far apart right now, it’s unreal. I was listening to a colleague on Radio Scotland earlier, and even Billy Dodds, who’s just stepped out of a role at Rangers, paying him to say that he didn’t think that Rangers would win the league.
“And when you’ve got people like that saying that Rangers are not going to win the league, I think that probably says it all.
“There is a lot to do. Let’s be honest, Russell Martin’s just came in, he’s got his style, his brand of football that he wants.
“But when you look at the teams right now, I don’t think there’s really anyone in the Rangers team that would walk into the Celtic team, albeit they might make a complete pig’s ear of it tomorrow.”

What gutted Billy Dodds previously said about Celtic being better than Rangers
Whilst we don’t have what Dodds said on BBC Sportsound yesterday, the former Rangers coach has previous when it comes to sounding gutted about Celtic.
Last season, after Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final, Dodds said after the match, “Celtic found a way. Rangers brought so much to it, they ran them so close and pushed them all the way, but Celtic just have the mindset to hit five perfect penalties.
“They have the mindset of champions. Rangers kept at it and showed the right mental strength.
“But, you’ve got to find a way to actually get yourself over the line and win the trophy. It’s the only thing that changes the narrative.”
And after what Russell Martin said about his Rangers team after drawing with Motherwell, it seems not much has changed in almost a full calendar year.
