Jablonec manager sounds worried about Celtic; compares Postecoglou's team to Lennon's

Things aren’t going great for Celtic and, currently, a trip to the Czech Republic on Thursday night to play Jablonec feels pretty daunting.

But it’s hardly a rosy picture for them either.

In fact, manager Petr Rada sounds at his wit’s end with his squad after being humiliated 3-0 by Mlada Boleslav.

As quoted by The Daily Record, he raged this weekend: “I’m very angry with the players. They can’t say they weren’t prepared. I went to watch Mlada Boleslav personally a week ago and they were armed with first-hand information. It was the worst possible preparation for the match against Celtic.

“My assistant manager, Zdenek Klucky, watched Celtic’s games against FC Midtjylland. He told me they have a much stronger team than last season, even though they also went out of the Champions League last season too.

“It’s a different opponent and a different competition, so we have to concentrate on Celtic and give a completely different performance.

“When we play Celtic, we cannot afford to make the same stupid mistakes we made here. There was a lack of movement and we were poor everywhere. We lost deservedly and this must not be repeated against Celtic or else we are going out.”

There you go then. There for the taking? Well, not so fast. Hold your horses.

Jablonec will be no mugs. In fact, they’re a strong level of competitor for this stage of the tournament.

When you consider they only finished five points behind Sparta Prague in the league last season, who cuffed us 8-2 over two games, suddenly they don’t seem like walkovers do they?

I have no doubt the Czechs will fancy their chances for this one, regardless of what they are saying publicly. Remember, Midtjylland pitched themselves as underdogs too.

Ultimately if these Celtic players turn and take chances, we’ll likely go through. But these days, it hasn’t been as easy as all that has it?

In other news, Celtic need to make a move for Kevin Nisbet before it’s too late.
