Read MoreCeltic need to make a move for Kevin Nisbet before it's too late
Weekend one of the Scottish Premiership and Celtic fans are already talking plenty about Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet.
Nisbet was a big part of today’s comeback Hibs win away to Motherwell, offering a strong attacking threat throughout and directly involving himself in the second goal.
It was his quick-thinking shot from the edge of the box that hit the post and allowed Christian Doidge to equalise in the 3-2 victory.
Nisbet’s shot also led to the penalty that Martin Boyle converted to win. He was named the BBC’s man of the match.
Back in May, it was reported that Nisbet was one of Celtic’s big summer transfer targets. But other clubs are keen. He nearly left Hibs in January but the Edinburgh side held firm on their valuation despite a transfer request from the player.
It’s since been said that Hibs are looking for a fee of £4m for him.
I could see Celtic paying that kind of fee for a striker. When you add in Leigh Griffiths, suddenly you can see a deal being completed.

Celtic fans are ready to embrace Kevin Nisbet
It just makes sense and I’m honestly surprised Celtic haven’t made the bid yet.
We don’t want Nisbet to be another player that got away. If he keeps up his early-season form deeper into August, a club will come in for him before the end of the month, it’s almost guaranteed.
Celtic have surely learned their lessons on dilly-dallying in the transfer market. We need a striker, Nisbet fits the bill, is within our budget and would be hungry to perform for the Hoops. Get it done.
Plenty of supporters agree, taking to Twitter this evening to share their thoughts on him after today’s display at Fir Park…
Right @CelticFC the last 4m we spent on a Hibs player turned out not too bad. Get it done, Nisbet is exactly what we need. Goal threat, work rate & great link-up play – knows exactly what’s needed/expected as a Celtic player also.

I don’t understand why celtic haven’t put a bid in for Kevin Nisbet

I’m not doing the Celtic Twitter thing and Google ‘good European footballers under €5m’ and tweet it. But based on media reporting, if Celtic are going to move the following need to be done Wed/Thurs.

We should be splashing the money and bringing in Kevin Nisbet

Totally agree. He’s quick, eye for goal and a presence. Also young enough to improve. I’d take him all day long.

In other news, the initial John Hartson verdict on Postecoglou’s Celtic is absolutely spot on.
