Celtic fans hijacked Rangers’ anthem ‘Simply the Best’ this season before the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox in March.

After Celtic’s final day title winner against Hearts, footage emerged from the Parkhead dressing room of Celtic players belting out the song as they trolled their Ibrox rivals.

And now, James Forrest has revealed which of his Celtic teammates is responsible for the trolling as he reveals the Parkhead DJ who is in charge of the post-match tunes.

🔢 It appears that both Ralston and Donovan will be here next season…

James Forrest names the Celtic player behind the Rangers wind-up

Forrest has explained that Kieran Tierney is the Celtic player responsible for creating the now legendary dressing room footage behind the Rangers trolling.

Forrest told The Herald, “I think it’s just maybe from the fans, like maybe the last year or two. The Celtic fans have been singing that as well, so it’s all good banter as well.

“KT always puts the tunes on. He’s the DJ at Scotland as well, and then at Celtic, he’s always done that.”

Celtic turning ‘Simply the Best’ into a Rangers problem

There is a reason Celtic fans have enjoyed turning ‘Simply the Best’ into part of their own celebrations. The Parkhead club are now officially Scotland’s most successful after overtaking Rangers’ combined trophy haul in 2024.

After winning title 56 this season, Celtic also hold the record for the most Scottish Premiership titles and remain the record holders of the Scottish Cup.

As for Rangers, they have a lot of catching up to do and after ending last season trophyless again, the pressure is already on Derek McInnes to deliver silverware before even managing his first game for the Ibrox club.
