Celtic legend James Forrest has only trained with new signing Camilo Duran once and has already made up his mind on the Colombian forward.

Duran joined Celtic this week and met up with his new teammates at the pre-season camp in Portugal.

One training session was enough for Forrest to pick out the qualities that immediately caught Forrest’s eye, and Celtic supporters will like what they hear.

James Forrest spots the Duran qualities Celtic have been looking for

Forrest was asked for his first impression of Duran after the Colombian trained with the squad, and his answer left little doubt about what he had seen.

Forrest told the Daily Record, “He trained with us today. Aye, he looks good. I think he scored five goals in the Champions League last year as well.

“He’s going to be a good player, he looks like a good athlete, he looks quick and that as well. So it’s exciting.

“I think it’s always good when we get signings in and other players look forward to that as well, so obviously we’ll see over the coming days how he is.”

Celtic’s pre-season fixtures are coming thick and fast so it won’t be long until supporters will get to see Duran don the green and white Hoops.

Camilo Duran won’t have to wait long to make his Celtic case

Celtic will play Sporting CP in the second of four pre-season fixtures this summer on the 14th of July with a 5:30pm kick-off.

Duran will undoubtedly feature at some point in the game as Celtic supporters look forward to seeing what he brings to the team.

Then on the 18th of July, AC Milan visit Celtic Park followed up by Middlesbrough one week later as Martin O’Neill looks to cap off his pre-season preparations against quality opposition.

Forrest’s first impression will only raise the excitement around Duran. Now the Colombian has the chance to show Celtic supporters that what his teammate spotted in training can make the difference once the matches begin.
