All eyes will be on Ibrox on Sunday as Celtic make the short trip to take on Rangers.

This is Celtic’s first game since being crowned champions of Scotland when Brendan Rodgers’ side thrashed Dundee United last time out.

In truth, for months and months, everyone has been waiting for Celtic to wrap up the title, but every now and again, they have continued to shoot themselves in the foot.

But now, the Celtic Park faithful, who will be in the away end at Ibrox, can make themselves known and show the world who is Scotland’s most successful club.

Despite the Hoops’ utter dominance over Rangers, the fact of the matter is, the opposition has won the last two Glasgow derby matches.

And the supporters will want the players to put that right, even with the overall picture stating that there is a huge gulf between the two.

Open goal pundits predict Rangers vs Celtic clash at Ibrox

Celtic have won the games that have mattered most – the first derby of the season and that enthralling League Cup final win at Hampden in December.

When sharing their predictions for the game, James McFadden noted on Open Goal that Rangers have scored nine goals in their last three matches against Celtic.

But, despite all of that, McFadden is still backing Celtic to win, including some worry from former Rangers man, Derek Ferguson.

Si Ferry asked: “What is your prediction for this. Make a lurdicious statement.”

Paul Slane responded: “I think it will be a heavy defeat for Rangers,” with Gordon Dalziel responding in the background, ‘heavy? How heavy?!’ and Slane added: “I am going by four.”

Dalziel then stated his prediction: “Draw.” And Derek Ferguson is praying: “That’s what I am hoping for, a draw.”

McFadden then added: “They scored nine in their last three against them. I think Celtic win.”

Brendan Rodgers’ record as Celtic manager against Rangers

This is unusual territory for Rodgers because he isn’t used to being in these types of losing situations against Rangers.

It’s a test for him, and it will be interesting to see how he reacts, but the cream always rises to the top.

And, even though Rodgers has lost his last two games against the Gers, his record against them, over his two spells as the Celtic manager, is pretty crazy.
