Journo Robert Grieve has not ruled out the possibility of James Tavernier signing for Brendan Rodgers’ Al-Qadsiah.
Callum McGregor has already been linked with a Rodgers link-up in January, but there was no evidence that the move got off the ground.
However, we now know that Tavernier will leave Rangers at the end of the season, putting him on the market as a free agent this summer.
Grieve thinks that Al-Qadsiah, whose CEO is ex-Ibrox chief James Bisgrove, is an option for Tavernier.

Grieve said to David Friel on The Set Piece: “I know there’s a lot going on the world right now… the Saudi option, you’d imagine.
“Could he go and link up with Brendan Rodgers?

Friel replied: “Are you saying that Brendan Rodgers is lining up a summer swoop for Celtic captain Callum McGregor and Rangers captain James Tavernier?”
Grieve said: “Would you rule it out? I wouldn’t rule it out.”
Friel said: “Who’d be the captain there? Captain and vice captain?”
Grieve finally replied: “There’s links there. James Bisgrove is there. So who’s to say that James Bisgrove hasn’t rang the phone to James Tavernier to say: ‘Get yourself to Saudi, and I’ll pay you 100 large every week?”
Rodgers is yet to make a major signing in charge of the Khobar-based side, though he has been linked with a stunning move for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Whilst they aren’t under the ownership of the Saudi Public Investment Fund like the nation’s major four clubs, Qadsiah are owned and funded by Aramco, the nation’s biggest oil company.
They won’t be short on funds this summer, with Portugal international Otavio expected to leave.
Is Brendan Rodgers a Celtic legend?
Ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers’ time in Saudi Arabia so far
Rodgers was unveiled by Al-Qadsiah in December, being quizzed on his infamous ‘Honda Civic’ Celtic comments at his unveiling.
However, he took the club by storm, defeating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on an extraordinary unbeaten run which saw them emerge as unlikely title contenders.
The run lasted 17 games before eventually being put to an end by Moussa Dembele and Jack Hendry’s Al-Ettifaq.
Regardless, he has earned links to the hotseat of the Saudi national team with his side’s form.
