Celtic’s draw with Aberdeen threw up plenty of debating points after Brendan Rodgers’ side threw away a two-goal lead at the weekend.

Whilst the Celtic fans debate how that happened, VAR also created its own talking points after a pulsating game at Parkhead.

67 Hail Hail discussed yesterday how Des Roache believes Duk handled the ball to push home Aberdeen’s third goal of the game and how Dermot Gallagher also delivered his big Celtic Park VAR verdict.

However, there is still a debate on social media on whether or not Duk’s goal should have stood but Jamie McGrath has now ended that as he shared what Duk did after the goal tells him it shouldn’t have stood.

Duk knew he handballed at Celtic

McGrath was asked about both of Duk’s handballs but shared what his Aberdeen teammate did after the ball hit the back of the net told him that he handled the ball.

McGrath told the Daily Record, “Dimi’s save was unbelievable but he has done that all season. We knew we would need him and he’d be called upon. Everything he did, he did so well.

“Even Duk at the end, it happened so quickly I was dreading it being handball, but it hit his chest. That just showed the character, everyone is willing to die for the three points.

“I thought Duk had scored, I put the ball into the box and then saw it in the net, so we were in the corner celebrating. Although you could tell from Duk’s body language that he thought he’d probably handled it.

“On another day we could have scored again on the counter-attack. Topi Keskinen was brilliant for us, he really was an out-ball and, at another time, we could maybe have gone 3-2 up.”

Celtic now focused on Atalanta in the Champions League

Domestic matters take a back seat as Celtic prepare to face Atlanta on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers will be keen to avoid a defeat like Celtic experienced at Borussia Dortmund and look to get a rare result in Italy.

With Atalanta’s Ederson expecting a tough game against Celtic, it’s clear the Serie A side are taking nothing for granted on Wednesday night.

If Celtic can at least manage a draw then there would be a tidal wave of positivity for the Bhoys ahead of home games against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge in November.
