With Celtic’s transfer business front and centre of the headlines this week, the fans will be hoping to see some new faces added to Brendan Rodgers’ team soon.
The Celtic boss has been playing the patient game to add quality to the team after he recently admitted that he could have signed up to nine players this summer already.
However, it seems that it’s not just the Celtic first team that will be getting some attention in the summer window as the Hoops look to add to academy numbers as well.
We discussed this week how the club had brought in two international youngsters on a week-long trial and one has been talked up by his current manager.
Ryan Corrigan labelled a ‘super young player’
Young Cliftonville duo Ryan Corrigan and Shay Reid are both at Lennoxtown showcasing their skills in the hope that they can earn a move to the Scottish champions.
But it was Corrigan who was the focus of the attention of Cliftonville manager, Jim Magilton, after his goalscoring exploits earned him a rave review from his boss.
Magilton said [Belfast Live], “Ryan Corrigan is a great player and I’m delighted with him.
“Ryan is one for now, not just the future. We are trying to give him more game time, he’s a super young player.
“I have had a history as a manager of throwing young players in. Conor Wickham, I put in when he was 15 (at Ipswich Town). And I am not putting them at risk – I believe in them.
“Ryan scoring against Larne is a massive plus for us. Cian Bolger is an outstanding player physically and the kid’s movement was brilliant, he deserved a goal.”

Corrigan scored for Cliftonville in the 2-1 defeat to Larne in the NIFL Charity Shield last Friday night but even losing that match couldn’t dampen Magilton’s enthusiasm for the Northern Ireland U17 international.
With Celtic losing Rocco Vata to Watford and Daniel Kelly stalling on a new deal, the club still need to add to its youth ranks despite having nine youngsters signing their first professional deals at the club last month.
