Excitement is building ahead of Celtic’s highly-anticipated Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen tomorrow at Pittodrie.

Currently, the Bhoys lie four points clear of Jimmy Thelin’s side heading into the meeting between the top-two, providing plenty of motivation to extend the gap over their nearest challengers.

According to The Scottish Sun, Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov is ‘expected’ to miss out against Celtic as the Dons await an update on the extent of a hamstring injury.

The Bulgarian stopper has kept eight clean sheets across all competition this term, but Lennoxtown graduate Ross Doohan could be plunged between the sticks for the hosts.

Mitov was withdrawn for the Dons during their 1-1 draw away to Heart of Midlothian at the weekend and the extent of his knock will be revealed later today.

With Aberdeen performing admirably this campaign, the former St Johnstone man has been a key fixture due to his match-winning stops and calm demeanour.

Last weekend, Rodgers clarified Celtic have several ‘starters’ ready to step in after several fringe men stepped to the forefront and delivered in their victory over Ross County last weekend.

Posing difficult questions, the Irishman now needs to decide whether the likes of Paulo Bernardo, Luke McCowan, Adam Idah, Alex Valle and Liam Scales deserve to keep their place over positional competitors.
