Celtic’s first half against Kilmarnock is about as clinical a performance as you will see from this Ange Postecoglou side.

Four goals in twenty minutes effectively killed off the tie and whilst we couldn’t add to the tally, the way this team went about their business shows that they are taking nothing for granted in their pursuit of retaining the title.

Apart from Kilmarnock’s goal and one second-half save, Joe Hart didn’t really have much to do in the match.

At full-time, he sent a message on his Instagram where he leaves fans in no doubt that this team are not about to take their foot off the gas anytime soon.

With Celtic twelve points ahead at the top of the league after last week’s Glasgow Derby win, you could have forgiven the team if the performance today was a bit flat. But my goodness, did they not just blow that Kilmarnock team away?

First-half goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and a double from Matt O’Riley were enough to end the game as a contest. One thing Hart’s message on social media tells the fans is that the players are still fully focused on the challenges that lay ahead.

The importance of the fans is not lost on these Celtic players.

And as for the away fans? They were relentless in their backing of the team as all 3969 of them did not stop singing from the first whistle to the last.

The Celtic goalkeeper has been pivotal to Ange Postecoglou’s revolution as the manager this week praised Hart for his work on and off the field to help get this team to where they are now.

With one game left till the split, the Celtic fans will be eager to find out who they will face first in the month of May so that they can start to organise a title party.
