Former Celtic hero John Hartson has given his thoughts on the current Hoops situation as the media negativity continues.
It’s been a tough few weeks for Brendan Rodgers’ side with a dire cup exit at Kilmarnock followed by a goalless draw at home to struggling St. Johnstone on Saturday.
Celtic look far from their best at present. While the club are without several key players due to injury, those who are fit are not performing to the levels we know they can.
As is par for the course in Scotland, the media have been sent in to overdrive with negative headlines about the current side.
In the past 24 hours we have had excessive talk of a ‘Champions League bloodbath’ from the Daily Record and the prospect of things ‘getting ugly’ by Chris Sutton among others.
Everyone seems to be gunning for the club at present and we as fans aren’t exactly happy either.

Hartson is one of us and has delivered what seems to be a rallying call to the players ahead of Sunday’s first derby of the season against Rangers.
In a video posted on Twitter, the Welshman said: “What a great opportunity to put it right this weekend at Ibrox. It’ll be intense, it’ll be fast, players mentality.
“Get it right this weekend, do the right thing, take it on board, take responsibility.
“Never mind Brendan Rodgers. He can set them up, put the team out but players have to go and play.
“Make sure you get it right and all the very best. We’ve done it many times before. Go and do it again.” (@JohnHartson10 on Twitter)
That final part definitely got the blood pumping with this writer. It’s been a tough few weeks to support the club with bad news seeming to be followed by more bad news every day.

The scenes at full-time of Saturday’s draw with St. Johnstone weren’t particularly great but there is no time for anyone to feel sorry for themselves.
We’re still top of the league and could be four points ahead of our rivals come Sunday evening. We have the players to do it if they’re at the top of their game and back to playing the way we know they can.
If we get a positive result in Govan, even a draw, and sign some first-team ready players between now and the transfer deadline, we’ll all feel a hell of a lot better about things.
