Celtic interim manager John Kennedy has addressed the prospect of a heavy summer turnaround of players at the club.
Given the performance of some at Ibrox yesterday, you’d be forgiven for thinking some of them have one foot out of the door already.
Kennedy was asked whether he has concerns about their commitment and training after yesterday’s game.
He doesn’t, but does admit that some players have been playing for their Celtic future and that many transfers are expected.
Speaking to The Scottish Daily Mail (19/04 print edition, Verdict supplement page 5), Kennedy said: “I don’t have an issue in terms of how they approach training and when we are doing things but you are always playing for your future.
“If there is going to be change, people might see things differently and people might have to show themselves again. And if there is a change, some styles might fit one player and not another and we will have to address things.
“I can’t put a number on it but, in terms of the squad, we need to add to that. We have lost a couple of players, a few might be coming out of contract. These decisions will be made in the summer.
“We are losing Scott Brown. Ismaila Soro is in the building but we need to add to that. So there will certainly be changes, maybe a little more than we normally do.”
Celtic are backed into a corner with this overhaul
How often do you hear of a club of Celtic’s size, reputation and stature go through so much change at once?
The CEO, replaced. A manager, still to be appointed. Our captain, on his way to Aberdeen. Star players, heads turned. It’s scary stuff.

I’m not sure I’ve experienced an event like this at Celtic in my 20-odd years supporting the club. Even in the wake of Barnes, Mowbray and other dismal seasons, the scale of the challenge never quite felt as grand as this.
Every aspect of the club is set to be changed.
We need that of course. I’m not arguing against it. But it just shows how much Celtic have backed themselves into the corner. If we don’t get the big decisions right over the next few months, including to do with the squad, we could be facing another long, disappointing year.
