England international goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, has shared how he really feels about Celtic favourite, Joe Hart.

Hart announced his intention to retire at the end of this season and it has left Brendan Rodgers to fill a huge gap in his Celtic first-team this coming summer.

Whilst the Celtic manager laments filling a Hart-sized hole in his team, his former England teammate, Jordan Pickford has shared how he understands why the £15k-per-week ‘keeper is loved so much by the Celtic supporters.

Pickford said [talkSPORT], “He was someone I looked up to massively.

“His pathway, he went on going from Shrewsbury to Birmingham to Man City and to get England’s number one and 75 caps and playing 10 to 12 years for Man City doesn’t come for nothing.

“He has had a great career. Hopefully, he will go out on a high. I can see why the Celtic fans love him as well.”

Joe Hart will be missed at Celtic

When the time comes for Hart to hang up his gloves there is absolutely no doubt that he will be missed not just by the players, but the fans as well.

Winning five trophies in two seasons, Hart created his own piece of history the minute he helped Celtic win their eighth domestic treble last season.

Become only the second-ever Celtic player to win every domestic honour on both sides of the border, Hart certainly has made a huge impact at the club over his short period in Paradise.

On course to make his 700th career appearance before the season ends, 141 of those have been at Celtic alongside 59 clean sheets for the Parkhead club. [Transfermarkt]

But it’s also his leadership and the camaraderie Hart has built in his spell at Celtic that will also be missed. Hart just gets the club and had bought into the ethos of Celtic since his £1m move in 2022.

It will be a sad day when Hart walks out the Parkhead exit door for the final time this season but he will always be remembered fondly, and as a treble-winning legend, in the eyes of the Celtic supporters.
