It has been an incredible few months for Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy.

After a slightly slow start to the season, the 32-year-old has burst into life and become a key contributor in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Following his showings with Australia at the World Cup, the midfielder has returned and produced some fantastic performances in the green and white.

The former English Premier League player has broken into the starting 11 with his performances, earning a starting role ahead of Matt O’Riley in recent weeks.

Mooy has also burst onto the goalscoring scene after becoming the Bhoys designated penalty taker. So far, he has scored three spot kicks, with his most recent coming in last weekend’s win over Dundee United.

His contributions certainly haven’t gone unnoticed by the Celtic supporters, who have created a catchy chant to the tune of ‘Daddy Cool’.

The new chant has clearly gone down well with the fans. However, it also appears to be making waves in the Celtic Park dressing room.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday afternoon, Celtic winger Jota has revealed that the Hoops squad are loving the latest addition to the Parkhead songbook.

The 23-year-old stated that the entire squad like to sing along to the chant, which leaves his Australian teammate slightly embarrassed as he receives all the plaudits.

He said [The Herald]: “Our team bond is definitely a key factor in our success. We are always trying to help everyone every single day.

“And actually, we really like the song! His reaction is always really funny, so that was another good moment for us in that game.

“I was just grateful that he put that cross in and that I could score.

“Does he get embarrassed by his song? Yeah! Aaron is definitely a special guy but in a good way.

“When the song comes on, it’s always funny for us because we all start to sing and he doesn’t know what to do! It’s always good fun.”

Celtic squad’s reaction to latest chant is another sign of the brilliant dressing room atmosphere.

At Celtic, we have become well accustomed to hearing new catchy chants in the stands about our favourite players at the club.

Whether it be players like Scott Sinclair or Stuart Armstrong, fans quickly get the newest chants stuck in their heads after being sung in the stadiums on a weekly basis.

However, it isn’t just supporters that are loving these chants. It’s the players themselves too.

It is brilliant to hear this sort of insight into the Celtic dressing room from Jota and their brilliant reaction to the catchy ‘Aaron Mooy’ tune.

You can only sometimes briefly see the players joining in during celebrations. But it is clearly a bigger thing within the dressing room.

It also just goes to show the brilliant atmosphere within the group that allows them to joke about these things, and you can imagine it will help all sorts of different characters settle into the club much easier.

If Mooy keeps up the form he has been producing in recent weeks, then I am sure we will be seeing a lot more players getting involved as supporters show their appreciation from the stands!

In other news, Celtic fans still have a major stadium display to look forward to; brilliant early season plans revisited.
