Kelechi Iheanacho has discussed Celtic, James Forrest and even Efe Ambrose.

The striker was brought in through the back door after the closure of the transfer window last summer, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers.

To say the least, a lot has happened since then, much of it out of Iheanacho’s control — but now, he seems to have finally established himself as one of Celtic’s key players.

And fans will be delighted to know that he is absolutely loving it in Glasgow.

Kelechi Iheanacho: I have loved James Forrest for a ‘long, long time’

Iheanacho told Celtic TV ahead of today’s clash with Falkirk: “I think I always loved Celtic, to be fair. I’ve followed them over the years.

“Here’s a little secret: I have loved James Forrest for a long, long time.

“When he was playing for Celtic, that is one player that I love in a Celtic jersey as well.

“Obviously there’s a young player that played here, Efe Ambrose. But yeah, Forrest was a player I loved watching when playing for Celtic.

“So it’s been a club I’ve been following for years, and I love the football club as well. So I’m happy I’m a big part of it now. So let’s see how it goes.”

On the season in general, Iheanacho said: “I think everybody’s pleased, and you should be pleased as well.

“I’m happy as well as everyone, we just keep going.

“I know it’s a bit tough at the moment, sometimes we win games in the last minute, I know that. So hopefully we’ll not have a panic attack!

“But yeah, it’s a good thing that the most important thing is to win a football match. So we’re doing that at the moment, hopefully it stays like that, and in the end we’ll all be happy and smile together.”

Iheanacho has scored six goals since coming to Glasgow on a free transfer, but could’ve easily had more if he had been able, or selected, to play more games.

He still hasn’t started a game for Celtic since the Premier Sports Cup final under Wilfried Nancy, in which he was injured.
