St Mirren were deserved winners of the Premier Sports Cup final, yet they still can’t get Celtic out of their heads.

Celtic were beaten 3-1 by the Buddies at Hampden Park in another woeful display from the Hoops.

An inquest into Wilfried Nancy’s start has been analysed extensively, with the 67 Hail Hail audience advising the Frenchman to not be so stubborn.

They will have to wait until next season to win back the Premier Sports Cup, but it seems the Hoops are still living rent free in St Mirren’s heads.

Killian Phillips’ bizarre swipe at Celtic

Killian Phillips was one of those involved in the disappointing day out and has been a key figure of Stephen Robinson’s side.

The 23-year-old has played in all-but-one game for the Buddies so far and controlled a midfield battle that featured an £11m Arne Engels.

Rather than celebrating the win, Phillips instead decided to poke fun at the Celtic side who have a more valuable squad than St Mirren.

He told Sam North’s Footy Adventures YouTube channel: “I don’t want to be sentimental with my career but this one means a lot more.

“The difference in the the two clubs is extortionate, you know, with the budgets and stuff like that. They bought players for £10million and I was bought for a bleeding bag of crisps.

“It was unbelievable to go and do this against the best team in the country in the last 20-30 years.

“We believed we could win all week. They had beaten us two times in a row but they’d only been ahead by one.”
