This current Celtic team is looking so strong this season under Brendan Rodgers.
Sitting on top of the Scottish Premiership table with fourteen goals and none conceded it does look like it is going to take something special to topple this Celtic team for the title.
However, it’s far too early to make any title-winning assumptions but it is clear to see that Celtic are a very efficient attacking and defensive unit.
This is why former Rangers midfielder, Kevin Thomson has told his old club that they should be really worried about Brendan Rodgers’ side even after selling their best player, Matt O’Riley.
Celtic still to hit ‘top gear’ is bad news for Rangers
Discussing Celtic’s recent performances, Thomson believes that teams in the league are yet to see the best of Brendan Rodgers’ team and that it is a ‘scary’ prospect for Rangers and the rest.
Thomson told The Scottish Football Social Club, “I think the scary thing, especially for Rangers but everybody really involved in the top flight is I think they’re only going to get better.
“I think they’ve counteracted any huffy and puffiness of last year and they went and recruited really well.
“I actually thought when Matt O’Riley went I thought he was such an important player. I know Callum Gregor is so important in the engine room but he’s the talisman man he makes them tick.
“But I certainly thought Matt O’Riley was he was the one that just had the energy and the power. He’s almost like playing with two players in the middle of the pitch at times and I if he goes and Celtic don’t replace him.
“But then they go and open the chequebook and sign quality. So I think it’s a scary thought if they do hit top gear which I think looks like it’s on the horizon for everybody else.”
Celtic’s game-changing squad depth
What is most pleasing about Celtic’s squad this season is that Brendan Rodgers now has that long sought-after quality he has been speaking about since last season.
And that quality has proven over the last two games that when called upon, Celtic’s bench can deliver.

Against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League James Forrest and Adam Idah combined to deliver Celtic’s fifth goal of the game.
In the 5-2 League Cup win over Falkirk, every single one of Celtic’s substitutions had a hand in all four of the late goals that sent Brendan Rodgers toward another date at Hampden.
And to think Kyogo Furuhashi was unused on Sunday, that makes Thomson’s claim even scarier. As previously mentioned, Celtic look a tough nut to crack and that is before they are playing at the levels they are capable of.
I’m with Thomson, that is a scary thought.
