Greg Taylor is out of contract with Celtic at the end of the season.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken of his desire to keep Taylor at the Hoops but has also admitted that it is likely the Scotland fullback will leave the club.
Taylor has enjoyed immense success at Celtic, winning four league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups, and when his move happens, he will go with the well-wishes of the majority of the Parkhead support.
However, Kris Boyd has a suggestion of a possible destination for the Celtic defender and, quite frankly, it is a fair attempt at an April Fools Day joke.

Kris Boyd tells Rangers to ‘ask the question’ of Celtic’s Greg Taylor
Boyd is known for his wind-ups and, dare I say it, trolling of Celtic fans with his punditry but it seems that on this occasion, suggesting Rangers sign Greg Taylor was a decent attempt at an April Fools joke.
Boyd told Go Ballistic, “I think for me as well, and I thought it was quite interesting, was the whole Greg Taylor thing at the weekend.
“Again, Brendan Rodgers obviously decided to speak about it. I’m going to say something here. If you’re Rangers, would you offer Greg Taylor a contract?
“Just when you think of, Yilmaz and Jefte, you know, I think Greg Taylor has shown for a consistent period of time now how consistent he has been.
“And if he’s not going to be at Celtic, he said he wants football, he wants to play regular. Could we see him switch sides in Glasgow?
“That’s a genuine question, though. And I know, obviously, the rivalry between the two clubs and that, but if Greg Taylor has, I mean, Brendan Rodgers has said he’s probably going to move on for regular football. For me, you know, he’s Scottish, he ticks the box.
“For me, you look at it as a free contract. Listen, he might not sign it, but we know the way the world works now. You could ask the question. You could ask the question.”
16 reasons why Greg Taylor leaving Celtic for Rangers will never happen
Greg Taylor has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell over his six seasons at Celtic. A winner of three trebles, the defender has written his part in the Hoops history books.
Within that, Taylor has also lorded it over Rangers in that period and his Celtic winning record over the Ibrox club is one of the many reasons he would never switch sides.
| Celtic record | Played | Won | Drew | Lost | Goals | Assists |
| Greg Taylor vs Rangers | 35 | 16 | 9 | 10 | 2 | 2 |
With two goals against Rangers, Taylor has more than played his part in keeping the Ibrox club the second-best team in Scotland.
Clearly, with this being April Fools Day, Boyd is having a laugh, bit it’s one that is not worth thinking about.
