It seems, now, that with Celtic captain, Callum McGregor breaking his silence on the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as the new Celtic manager, other players are following suit.
McGregor said that the appointment of Rodgers was a ‘statement of intent’ and urged the fans to ‘draw a line’ so that we can move forward together as a club.
But with Kyogo and Daizen Maeda, the message is a lot simpler. Both were asked to comment on the new manager and both kept their answers fairly straightforward.

Kyogo said [The Herald], “My ambition this season was to win all three trophies and win the Player of the Year and I have managed that.
“I was able to do that because I had a lot of support from my teammates.
“But right now, I want to have a long rest and think about things after that.
“I am delighted I was able to end a great season for me on a high.”
It looks like Kyogo didn’t want to be drawn on the new manager and is looking forward to a well-earned rest.
But for Maeda, he seemed set on just focusing on where he can improve as a player. The Celtic winger added, “I don’t know where my position will be with the change of manager at Celtic.
“But my priority is to perform well in every game so I can still be in the team.
“I know I still have a long way to go to develop as a player on the left side of attack.
“But I feel I am improving and I want to keep doing things my way.”

Kyogo was recently linked with a move to Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs. As yet, there has been no movement on those links but the transfer window is not open yet so we may well have a long summer to come.
As for Maeda, the 25-year-old has followed Ange Postecoglou at his last two clubs. Ange took him to Yokohama F Marinos from J2 League side Mito HollyHock in 2020 and then onto Celtic a year later.
There is absolutely no suggestion that Maeda, or Ange, wants to team up again. Maeda recently told how Celtic coach, Harry Kewell has helped him develop the attacking side of his game and from the comments above, he seems fairly happy at Celtic to continue that.
