Celtic striker, Kyogo Furuhashi has told of his ambition to follow in the footsteps of Shunsuke Nakamura at the club.
The Japanese star has 54 goals in two seasons at Celtic. Worryingly for the Hoops support, he has also been mentioned as a potential transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur after Ange Postecoglou left the club to join the EPL side.
However, the striker claims that attempting to emulate the accomplishments of the former Celtic star, Shunsuke Nakamura is a target he wants to aspire to at the club.

Kyogo said [Daily Record], “Shunsuke is the Celtic legend. When I joined, I honestly had no idea that I could be able to catch up with his achievements. I’ve been trying to get people to remember my name at Celtic.
“I’ve been playing hard, hoping my name will be engraved in the history of Celtic one day. Now I feel like that I could catch up with Shunsuke a little.”
Nakamura is revered by the Celtic support for his four seasons at the club where he won three league titles, a Scottish Cup and two league cups.
Famed for his deadly free-kicks, Nakamura gave the Celtic fans two of the most cherished memories from a dead ball situation. The stunning winning goal in the 1-0 Champions League victory over Manchester United and the title-winning free-kick against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

And let’s throw in that stunning strike against Rangers in the 2008 Glasgow Derby that Celtic won 2-1 at Paradise. Yes, I know it’s not a dead ball but it is still worth a mention.
Kyogo seems to want to target an individual legend status for himself and to do that, he would need to stick around for a few more years yet. With the links to Spurs emerging last week, the Celtic striker does seem to suggest that he aims to be around to achieve that goal and that will delight the Celtic support.
Let’s be honest, Kyogo is already a legend at Celtic as a treble winner. His contribution to the club’s successes over the last two seasons have been crucial. His two goals against Hibs and Rangers in the last two season’s League Cup Finals will live long in the memory of today’s Celtic support.
