Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi is still enjoying the summer break in Japan after the end of international duty, making media appearances ahead of his return to Lennoxtown.
Kyogo was one of the Celtic players called up for their national team shortly after the season’s end so hasn’t had as much of a holiday as some others in the squad.
He’s spent the majority of the time in his homeland and this week was apparently left delighted with a guest spot on the entertainment TV show Seyanen, which appears to be some sort of food challenge show on MBS in the Kensai region of Japan. [Dan Orlowitz]
The Celtic forward posted on Instagram said (machine translated): “Seyanen! I was allowed to appear! Everyone is kind and thankful! Did you guys see it? I was nervous, but it was so much fun and the time passed in no time! I will do my best to call you again.”
Kyogo is apparently a big fan of the programme and was thrilled to appear, so good for him!
It’s important the Celtic players get a physical and mental break from football over the next few weeks because it’s likely to be their last opportunity until at least the World Cup.
Celtic play as many as 24 competitive matches in 104 days between July 31st and November 12. Even then, some such as Kyogo will be jetting off to Qatar to represent their countries at the big FIFA tournament.

The Japanese attacker and his teammates will first fly off to Austria for a training camp in the first week of July, with two friendlies set to take place locally.
Friendlies will then come in Czechia, Glasgow and Poland, with six in total before the big kick-off against Aberdeen on Sunday July 31st.
It’s great to see Kyogo enjoying himself and I can’t wait to see him back in action for the Hoops after his stunning debut campaign.
